Our client is proud to be a state-licensed betting operator, positioned to lead this new chapter in the industry. As part of their launch and growth plans, they are now building a strong local team across multiple departments.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Country Manager to lead and grow a Sportsbook business in Uzbekistan. This role will be responsible for developing and executing the local market strategy, driving commercial performance, and overseeing key operational functions including marketing, business development, partnerships, and customer growth.
The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of the Uzbek market, local consumer behaviour, and the competitive sportsbook landscape, with the ability to build market presence and deliver sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the overall market strategy for Uzbekistan, aligned with company objectives and growth targets.
- Drive Sportsbook growth through effective customer acquisition, retention, and revenue optimisation initiatives.
- Lead local marketing activities across digital, affiliate, CRM, social media, sponsorship, influencer, PR, and offline channels.
- Identify and establish strategic partnerships to strengthen market presence and support business growth.
- Analyse market trends, customer behaviour, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and risks.
- Manage local budgets and ensure efficient resource allocation, with a strong focus on ROI and commercial performance.
- Collaborate closely with CRM, Product, Trading, Customer Support, Payments, Compliance, and Marketing teams to optimise the customer experience.
- Monitor key business KPIs, prepare performance reports, and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Support localisation initiatives, ensuring products, campaigns, promotions, and communications are relevant to the Uzbek audience.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, partners, and industry contacts.
- Ensure all business activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Contribute to long-term market expansion plans and identify new growth opportunities.
Requirements
Proven experience in the Sportsbook industry is essential.
Previous experience in a Country Manager, General Manager, Commercial Manager, Head of Operations, Head of Marketing, or similar leadership role within betting, gaming, or iGaming.
Strong knowledge of the Uzbekistan market, customer preferences, and local business environment.
Demonstrated experience across marketing, business development, and operational management.
Experience managing commercial performance, budgets, partnerships, and growth initiatives.
Strong understanding of customer acquisition channels, CRM, affiliate marketing, and sportsbook customer lifecycle management.
Ability to analyse business performance and translate data into actionable commercial strategies.
Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on approach to building and growing a market.
Fluent Uzbek and Russian are required.
Strong English communication skills are required.
Preferred Background
- Experience launching or scaling sportsbook operations in emerging or developing markets.
- Understanding of local sports audiences, betting behaviour, and digital acquisition channels.
- Existing relationships with affiliates, media partners, sports organisations, or local business networks.
- Experience working in both regulated and international sportsbook environments.
