Key Responsibilities
Erection & Installation
- Supervise erection of storage tanks (shell, roof, bottom plates, nozzles, internals)
- Coordinate installation of mechanical equipment and associated structures
- Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and fit-up of tank components
- Oversee welding, bolting, and mechanical assembly activities
- Verify installation works comply with drawings and specifications (API 650 / project standards)
Technical Control
- Review engineering drawings, erection plans, and method statements
- Ensure correct interpretation of technical documents on site
- Resolve technical issues during installation in coordination with engineering team
- Participate in inspection and testing activities (NDT, hydrotesting, etc.)
Site Coordination
- Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, QA/QC, and HSE departments
- Plan daily/weekly erection activities based on project schedule
- Ensure availability of tools, equipment, and manpower on site
- Monitor productivity and progress of erection works
HSE Compliance
- Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and site procedures
- Conduct toolbox talks and participate in safety meetings
- Ensure safe lifting operations and rigging activities
- Identify and mitigate site risks during erection activities
Reporting
- Report daily progress and site issues to project management
- Maintain erection records, checklists, and installation reports
- Support commissioning preparation and handover documentation
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related fiel
- 3–5 years in mechanical erection / tank installation projects
- Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or EPC industrial projects
- Strong knowledge of storage tank erection (API 650 / API 620 preferred)
Skills
- Understanding of mechanical erection methods and lifting operations
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Knowledge of welding processes, NDT, and QA/QC requirements
- Familiarity with construction tools, cranes, and rigging operations
Languages
- English: Intermediate level or higher (for site coordination)
- Additional languages (Russian/Kazakh) are an advantage depending on location
