Kazakhstan International School (KIS) is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and dynamic Primary School Russian Language Teacher to join our expanding team.
In this role, you will inspire young learners, fostering both a love for the Russian language and a deep conceptual understanding. You will be responsible for creating a nurturing, inquiry-based, and stimulating environment where primary students (both native and non-native speakers) can thrive. As a primary educator, you will play a key role in developing students' foundational literacy, communication skills, and international-mindedness.
Key Responsibilities:

Inquiry-Based Teaching: Design, prepare, and deliver high-quality, student-centered lessons that align with international primary curriculum standards and inquiry-based learning frameworks.

Differentiated Instruction: Teach and support students based on their individual needs, learning styles, and language proficiency levels (adapting materials for both native and non-native speakers).

Collaborative Planning: Partner with primary homeroom teachers and the curriculum coordinator to integrate Russian language and literacy into the transdisciplinary Units of Inquiry.

Assessment & Progress Tracking: Formatively and summatively assess, record, and document student development. Provide meaningful feedback to students and regular updates to parents regarding language acquisition and milestones.

Classroom Management: Maintain a caring, safe, supportive, and well-organized classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and a growth mindset.

Holistic Contribution: Actively participate in the wider life of the school, including supervising primary students, collaborating on school events, and running engaging extracurricular activities (ECAs).
Our Requirements:

Education: Higher Degree/Diploma in Education, Russian Language and Literature, or Primary Education.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, with a strong preference for experience in international schools or early years/primary school settings (knowledge of the IB PYP framework is a distinct advantage).

Language Skills: Complete fluency in Russian (ability to teach both Russian as a First Language and Russian as an Additional Language) and fluency in English for professional collaboration and parent communication.

Pedagogical Approach: A creative, enthusiastic, and flexible approach to teaching young learners through play, inquiry, and interactive activities.

Skills: Strong tech-literacy (for documentation and interactive learning), exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and excellent time management.
